The Spellshop  By: Sarah Beth Durst  Pub. Date: July 9th, 2024 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐  Narrator: Caitlin Davies 12 hours & 11 minutes  Keila is an introverted librarian of the Great Library of Alyssium. A revolution against the emperor is happening and the library is on fire. Luckily Keila has been preparing just in case this happened. She has a boat and crates of books. Her and her familiar Caz, a magical spider plant escape. They return to her childhood home and magic happens.  I adored this book. I thought I had this as an arc but it turns out it's a different book. but I'm so glad I picked this up to listen too. it was so much fun. I loved the cozy fantasy. I guess it's considered cottage core and now I'm wondering what else I can read that's like it. I'm excited to read book two that comes out in July. I preordered a copy because I loved this one so much. yep, obsessed. I wish I could live in this fantasy world and do spells with the Keila. My favorite character...

the language of the birds

(book review) The Language of the Birds By: K.A. Merson Pub. Date: May 13th, 2025 3 ⭐⭐⭐ Arizona and her mom are on a trip spreading her dad's ashes. When Arizona's mom goes missing. Arizona finds a cryptic message and their airstream torn apart. Arizona must use her genius brains to decipher the codes/riddles to save her mom. This book started out strong and I was invested in the search of Arizona's mom and deciphering the clues. But the pages of the deciphering clues lost me and definitely went over my head. I lost my "mojo" in staying interested in the brainiac puzzles. I felt the ending was rushed and I didn't feel satisfied. Thank you  @netgalley  &  @ballantinebooks  for a complimentary copy. WolfSong

(audiobook review) Wolfsong By: TJ Klune Green Creek  #1 Pub. Date: July 4th, 2023 Narrator: Kirt Graves 4 ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ #arcbacklist I loved the House in the Cerulean Sea, so I decided I wanted to read the rest of the author's books. I've got to admit I was intimidated by the size of the book. 500 pages is daunting. The audiobook is 19 hours. I placed the book on my holds on the Libby app and I admit I've been delaying it for quite some time. I wasn't sure what I signed up for when I first started listening but soon became hooked to the story and the premise. It did remind me a bit of another popular fantasy series. I liked the quote of it being "if Bella didn't suck and had chosen the werewolves but they were gay." a pretty good sum up of this book. also a weird age gap with the Main characters. that felt icky. I'm glad I listened to the audiobook because I think some of the repetition of words would have annoyed me greatly. I enjoyed the story and I...
