I loved the House in the Cerulean Sea, so I decided I wanted to read the rest of the author's books. I've got to admit I was intimidated by the size of the book. 500 pages is daunting. The audiobook is 19 hours. I placed the book on my holds on the Libby app and I admit I've been delaying it for quite some time.
I wasn't sure what I signed up for when I first started listening but soon became hooked to the story and the premise. It did remind me a bit of another popular fantasy series. I liked the quote of it being "if Bella didn't suck and had chosen the werewolves but they were gay." a pretty good sum up of this book. also a weird age gap with the Main characters. that felt icky. I'm glad I listened to the audiobook because I think some of the repetition of words would have annoyed me greatly. I enjoyed the story and I'm intrigued enough to read the next in the series.
Thank you @netgalley & @torbooks for a complimentary copy. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
