after reading Inheritance I was so excited for this book. When I received an early arc in August 2024 I dived in right away and found myself bored. The descriptions of making dinner and preparing for the party were yawn inducing. I put the book down and kept meaning to finish it. when I saw the audiobook was available I jumped at the chance to finish this book. while the narrator did a fantastic job. Brittany Presley is one of my favorites. the writing just didn't grab me. this mostly felt like a filler book. the ending did help bump it up half a star. finishing this book felt like quite the accomplishment. The good ghosts are definitely the best part. I really need a housekeeper ghost to help me out. I'll definitely be grabbing book 3 but mostly for a conclusion.

I loved the magical town and the townsfolk. I'm hoping this is a new series and we get to know the rest of the Trouble Trio. It was the perfect amount of spicy, romance and magic.
